Examinees are responsible for knowing and understanding where they can park legally for testing appointments. The following general guidelines apply.
Please do not park in any “EM-P” or “EM-S” space without a valid permit.
Two Hour Visitor Parking
There is two hour street parking on Union Street. These spaces are quite limited and may not be available for all examinees. Street parking should not be used by examinees taking exams lasting more than two hours.
From 5:00 p.m. on Friday through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, free parking is available in any “CH” or “ST” parking space. These spaces can be located in the parking lot off Union Street (immediately south of Eigenmann — between Eigenmann and Student Central). Free parking for exams lasting more than two hours is not available during weekdays.
Beginning July 1, 2018, BEST will no longer accept cash as a form of payment for parking permits.
If you are taking an exam on a weekday (Monday through Thursday – all day; Friday until 5:00 p.m.), temporary parking permits are available for $10.00.
Permits may only be purchased in one of the following ways:
If paying by check, please make payable to Indiana University. You will purchase and pick up your permit at the time of testing.
Via Credit / Debit Card:
If paying by credit or debit card, examinees should pre-purchase a permit at
https://indianauniv.ungerboeck.com/prod/emc00/register.aspx?OrgCode=10&EvtID=8090&AppCode=REG&CC=117061960040 before arriving for testing.
Purchased parking permits will be picked up at the testing center on the day of testing. This permit will allow you to temporarily park in an “EM-P” or “EM-S” space. These spaces can be found in parking lots off Union Street (immediately south of Eigenmann between Eigenmann and Student Central), Jefferson Street (immediately east of Eigenmann), and East 10th street (immediately north of Eigenmann).
The permit must be displayed on the rear-view mirror of the vehicle facing out at the time it is parked.
Parking in university lots without a valid parking permit during regular business hours or in an off-campus business parking lot may result in the vehicle being ticketed and possibly towed. Please see the campus parking regulations page or contact us for more information about parking.
Parking on Union Street is extremely limited and is restricted to two hours in any given block weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Violators will be subject to a ticket issued by the City of Bloomington Parking Enforcement.
